2024, Journal of Controlled ReleaseiRGD peptide as effective transporter of CuInZn<inf>x</inf>S<inf>2 + x</inf> quantum dots into human cancer cells
2016, Colloids and Surfaces B: BiointerfacesCitation Excerpt :It has been reported that this peptide works either as conjugated to the payload or when it is co-administered with small drug compounds, nanoparticle-based therapeutics or monoclonal antibodies [19]. Recently, iRGD peptide-conjugated to type II CdTe/CdS QDs have been successfully applied for recognition of cancer cells in mice xenografted with pancreatic tumor cells [20]. Previous studies concerning RGD peptide have also shown that a probe prepared by linking this peptide to near-infrared emitting QDs (NIR QDs-RGD) can target integrin αvβ3 expressed in the endothelial cells of tumor angiogenic vessels in vivo into glioblastoma tumor cells [2123] as well as human oral squamous cell carcinoma [24].
Emerging inorganic nanomaterials for pancreatic cancer diagnosis and treatment
2012, Cancer Treatment ReviewsCitation Excerpt :Identification of novel molecular targets for pancreatic carcinoma continues to be a critical issue for this highly lethal disease. Some of the reported cellular receptors that have been targeted by utilizing inorganic nanotechnology for pancreatic cancer diagnosis and treatment are summarized in Table 2.6,30,31,34,37–39,41–43,46,49–52,54,58,59,64,66,71–73,75,76,80,106–108 Early detection offers the best hope for long-term survival of pancreatic cancer after surgical resection, as chemoradiation therapy have only modest benefits.
Extracellular membrane-proximal domain of HAb18G/CD147 binds to metal ion-dependent adhesion site (MIDAS) motif of integrin β1 to modulate malignant properties of hepatoma cells
2012, Journal of Biological ChemistryCitation Excerpt :It is significant to consider CD147 as a target for the development of diagnostic and treatment methods for cancers. Licartin (a 131I-labeled mAb specific for HAb18G/CD147) was developed in our laboratory and has been used safely and effectively in treating hepatocellular carcinoma patients (33, 34). Our results show that the RGD motif inhibits the CD147-integrin β1 interaction, blocking the outside-in signals of CD147 and attenuating the malignant properties of tumor cells that are induced by CD147.
